Hanwell Methodist Church
Composed and designed by Ray Garnett

Every so often we see a few words that make us stop and
think about God. Some come from church noticeboards,

some from church newsletters, some come to us through
leaflets, cards, booklets and similar publications. Some
have even been known to appear as graffiti or as little gifts
plaques in shops. Some are from the Bible and others we
may just have heard them spoken.

On this page are a few of the ones that some of the
members of our Church have contributed as worthy of
mention. Perhaps you’ll will find favourite ones that you
ponder over and take away with you to pass onto others.
However you use them, take them to heart and enjoy them.
Some may make you laugh, some may make you cry, but hopefully, they’ll all make you think.

If you have one that you would like to add to this page, then do send it to our web designer  (see below) for consideration.

Pause for Thought

Pause for Thought

A collection of inspirational quotes, sayings and readings that make you pause, think and perhaps reflect.

It is hoped that some of them may also make you take action as God would like you to.

If you would like to read more Prayers, Poems and Reflections that have been contributed by our Church members then click on the Reflections button below.

God gave you 86,400 seconds today.
Have you used one to say "Thank you"?
William Ward
To the world you might be one person;
but to one person you might be the world.
Flowers are like humans -
they thrive on a little kindness.
Stand still and consider the wondrous works of God.
Job 37:14
In God's eyes you do not need to do great things -
just small things with great love.

Don't give God instructions,
just report for duty.
Speak well of your enemies,
after all, you made them.
God knows!

A life spent making mistakes is not only more honourable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing.

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
